As someone who lived there for 22 and a half years- I still love Abilene! No, it isn't Dallas with all of its amenities, no it doesn't have the landscape of Colorado or East TX, or the mild weather of other places- but it is wonderful in it's own way (and actually, I've always thought it was beautiful too). The people in Abilene are so unique and so full of heart. Abilene is rugged and peaceful and one of the best places ever to catch a HS football game or a fair. Even now, thankful for so many of the things and places in Nashville, I miss many parts of Abilene. You know, trees can be a HUGE pain in the butt sometimes, and I miss wind more than you would believe. Humidity is not a fun thing either- so Mr. Whoever the Heck you are I know Abilene isn't perfect but I would like to echo the statements of many others- you can always leave if you hate it that bad, Abilene won't miss you!Kateyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17692677245243613944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8766973.post-1126122534281262942005-09-07T14:48:00.000-05:002005-09-07T14:48:00.000-05:00I got really mad when I was reading this guys blog...I got really mad when I was reading this guys blog. As someone who still lives in Abilene, I really don't like it when people attack my town. I know it's not the most beautiful place in the world! I grew up in East Texas! However, this town looks a lot better than it did 5 years ago, and I know for a fact it looks a lot better than it did 20 years ago! We're growing and our landscape is changing too.

And, I have to disagree with his comments on the weather. That's one of the great things about Abilene...you never know what you're going to get! At least we don't suffer from extreme humidity!

All I have to say is...If you hate Abilene so much, get out!!!!Ellisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06178985498832984565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8766973.post-1126070981921502772005-09-07T00:29:00.000-05:002005-09-07T00:29:00.000-05:00For real -- it's sad but true. It's okay to yearn for beautiful scenery, but it's so much better to look beyond the scenery if one can.Hollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17484218784988095227noreply@blogger.com
