We release them every year. I researched it before we started letting them go. It's also legal, if you use twine as a string.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8766973.post-1159223101002275062006-09-25T17:25:00.000-05:002006-09-25T17:25:00.000-05:00I understand and respect the stores not opening on...I understand and respect the stores not opening on Sunday, but I do have a question: What happens if you're Jewish? Sabbath begins at sunset on Friday . . . are Jewish people "excused" from work on their day or worship?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8766973.post-1159076405886857222006-09-24T00:40:00.000-05:002006-09-24T00:40:00.000-05:00Etiquette states that the National Anthem and Pled...Etiquette states that the National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance should be respected as one would respect a prayer. Gentlemen remove hats, you don't talk, you don't walk and you don't eat. Obviously, you stand during the Pledge and National Anthem.

When visiting other countries, you do not have to take part in their ceremonies or traditions, but you do have to respect their anthems and pledges.

I knew about the Chick-fil-a thing...Hobby Lobby is also closed on Sundays. Both of those companies were founded by Christian business leaders and felt it was important for their employees to spend Sunday at church or with their families. Like you, I respect that about those businesses and try to support them whenever possible.

Not sure about balloons or KISS FM, although every town I've lived in or near has had a KISS FM.Ellisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06178985498832984565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8766973.post-1159025323227733332006-09-23T10:28:00.000-05:002006-09-23T10:28:00.000-05:001.) I don't do it, but that doesn't mean it's disrespectful. But, dude, can't you wait a minute and a half to eat? Haha

3.) I have also been told that they pop at some point and then float down to earth. Of course, it won't be in the same place they were let go, so I imagine they're not really noticed when they land. And, yeah, shame on those people for litering!

4.) I don't know of a KISS FM here, but then I don't listen to the radio a lot, so maybe it's like the radio requirement to be considered a major city!!

5.) It's nitrogen!! This is the explanation I found on education-world.com: To keep potato chips fresh, commercial manufacturers had to solve two problems:

The chips had to be kept in the dark.
The chips had to be kept away from oxygen in the air.
To solve those problems, potato chip manufacturers developed a bag that is 1) lined with foil to keep out light and 2) packed in nitrogen -- an inert gas that makes up almost 80 percent of air. Unlike oxygen, which is required for a flame to burn, nitrogen doesn't support combustion. So the gas in a bag of potato chips should extinguish a flame -- fun!

So now you know. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
