Starbucks...

It barely takes two hands for me to be able to count the number of times I've drank a beverage from Starbucks. I say barely, because I think the one I drank today may have made my sixth time. It's that Pumpkin Spice Latte season. Besides that, there is only one other drink I've tried from there, and honestly, I don't remember what it's called...HA!

More and more I'm believing my lack of Starbucks consumption puts me in the minority. It seems everyone nowadays has to have their Starbucks, and if it isn't the brand...it's the product--coffee.

Is there anyone else out that that isn't a coffee drinker? If you don't do coffee are you a coke-a-day drinker? Or maybe a couple-cokes-a-day drinker? ;)

Our lifestyles nowadays seem to have so many individuals addicted (both physically and mentally, in my opinion) to caffeine.

So share with me. Are you a Starbucks frequent? Are you addicted to change and dollar bills so you can get your "coke" (or "soda" by my terms--maybe "pop" by your terms) for the day while at work?

And if so, how much? Are you a couple cups of coffee drinker a day? Three or four cokes?

Don't be shy...I wouldn't doubt you caffeine folks are the majority nowadays! ;)

I don't drink coffee at all, but I still love Starbucks. I am a tea drinker, however. I get the Chai Latte (soy) or just a cup of hot tea, like Earl Grey.

I don't make it to Starbucks on a regular basis, but do have at least 2 cups of tea a day. Much better for you then coffee. :-)

I wonder if there is a nature vs. nurture thing going on here...

I grew up in a house where neither of my parents were coffee drinkers. My dad drinks it occasionally nowadays, but it is seldom. And as for "soda" (as it was during my latter part of childhood; "pop" when I was real young...it depended on the part of the state you were living in...HA!) we hardly ever kept it in the house as well. It was kinda a special occasion thing. Maybe a couple times a month was there soda in the fridge. And with 6 of us, how long do you think that lasted!? ;)

Nowadays it's basically just water for me. Well, I take that back. Juice in the mornings. I LOVE juices! Just about ANY kind! I've ever kinda abandoned my obsession with lemonade. I'll still get it from time to time when I go out to eat, but I'm really just a water drinker. When I'm reminded that I'm trying to be more healthy I'll drink a glass or two of milk...used to drink milk a TON when I was a kid. My family is milk FREAKS! But once I went off to college I didn't drink it as much...probably just didn't want to spend the money on it! HA!

Hmmm....trying to remember the last time I had a soda/coke/pop...

I don't like coffee at all! And my husband drinks two pots a day. We now have a Starbucks in our little town, and we usually go hang out there on Sunday nights. I've been getting the double chocolate chip frappicino all summer. DELICIOUS! It was a little cool this past week so I had the hot chocolate. Also very good!

Belinda: I think you bring up a good point. I think Starbucks does get a lot of its appeal from the "hangout" type atmosphere. So why not hangout and sip some coffee, right?! ;)

Okay...I really am ignorant on some things and "coffee-type stuff" is one of my areas. Isn't a frappicino a coffee with just some extra added stuff? I honestly, don't know the difference...HA!

As for hot chocolate. Now that I WILL agree on...nothing better than some hot chocolate when it is cool outside! YUM! But I bet their hot chocolate is like $3.50 a cup like their other drinks! HA!

I'd be lying if I didn't say when I paid the $3-something for that pumpkin spice latte yesterday I was thinking..."Man...that would have SOOO been like almost a whole extra value meal!" HA!

I don't drink caffeine. Okay, doh! I admit it. I am an addict. But I don't need help (denial?). ha ha. I drink three or four sodas/day on average. The other day I didn't drink any and I felt like I had no energy at all and I got a headache. My mom actually prescribed me to go to Walmart and buy some Diet Dr. Pepper that day. Sometimes I drink coffee but it has a much stronger effect and makes my hands shake and my heart go fast, which I don't like. I don't really care for Starbuck's b/c they are just too pricey. Oh, this reminds me. I heard of this new energy drink called "Cocaine," that is supposedly 350 times stronger than an 8 oz can of Red Bull -- talk about the potential for heart attacks... or at least panic attacks! Also, my mom read in one of her medical journals that Diet Dr. Pepper is the most addictive soda for women. I can see that!

If the double chocolate chip frappicino has coffee in it, it's very minute. They gave me a java chocolate chip once and I had to take it back - I could taste the coffee! Try the chocolate chip - it's delicious!

Hey Kim! You're going to be on my blogger list now...I'm not a coffee drinker, but I enjoy going to Starbucks occasionally for a frap. Now my hubby is the Coke addict and I'm still trying to talk some sense into him. :)
